So here it is, finally completed. It came out more illustrator-ish than I expected, but I really like the look. It’s not all that visable here but there is loads of cross hatching and pencil lines.
It’s a rarity for me to do something that doesn’t revolve around an animal. But about every 12-18 months I get a hankering to do something just a little bit different. Last time I did several small poppy paintings (pre-blog I think.) Before that I did a long panoramic view of a large bluff from Big Bend National Park. So it’s not completely unheard of for me to branch out.
Still, when I mentioned to a long time artist friend what I was working on, she said “What? A pick-up! Is it filled with critters or something?”
Hey, now there’s an idea.
So, I guess you will need a little pocket on your website somewhere for your non animal paintings. I just love what you do. It totally amazes me every time. Keep up the good work.
Hey Joan! Good to hear from you. How is life in FD? You creating or singing?
Mike had mentioned the same thing about how are we going to place it on the website. I’m doubtful I’ll make prints of it just because I have no real way to market it. Not that I can’t, marketing is just allot of effort for one image. So may just sell it off cheap and move on.
Love the texture of the rusty metal. Very well done. That old truck with some critters would be interesting too!
It’s great Mona! I see what you mean about it being more illustrator-ish than your usual work, but I expect it was a refreshing change for you in that way too.
It was a nice change for me and I did really enjoy doing it.
Not sure what to do with the painting though. May just sell it off cheap and move on.
