And Now . . . For Something Completely Different
I spent much of my Sunday looking through my stack of beautiful photos trying to feed my muse and stimulate some sort of creative juices. I’ve got the urge to create, just am not feeling inspired to do anything in particular.
So I know I want to do something. I’ve got dozens of images swimming in my head. And my thought processes go something like this:
Maybe I should do my thumbnail zebra, or a piece with 3 elephants leaning in together in infrasound communication. Pehaps I should finally do Alborozo or his brother, Ah yes, wouldn’t they look gorgeous. . . in front of a spanish door or stables. Or maybe with some bright geometric shapes in the background.
These are all ideas that I will someday commit to paper. Just not today.
For today what tripped my trigger was our old truck. I ran out and snapped about 30 shots and came in, hit photoshop and began cropping. I am feelin’ inspired.
Of course I am a fickle woman at times, so by tomorrow I may wind up with something completely different. I’ll keep you posted.
50 points to anyone who can name the TV series that my post title comes from.
Nice photos — will be very interesting to see how you compose and create this subject. I believe the TV series has something to do with a Flying Circus, but that is as far as my brain will let me go at the moment, I know they made several movies also, Life of O’Brien, etc. — Undaunted should be able to do more, haha — but we will see.
Off to my mother’s today, then class tomorrow and back home. Half way through the quarter. Not teaching from March until September, for sure, then we will see. Have done very little art lately.
Oh, I remember the rest of it (MP), but will let other’s have a swing at it. Out of curiostiy what year does the license plate say for that truck?
In one of my former lifes I was into antique vehicles, owned — traded a 1939 Dodge Pick up truck and a 1941 Plymouth coupe. My first car was a candy apple red 1958 Chevy Belair — I learned to work on it myslef. Then went on to the above two in my 20’s– got more serious, less adventurous to a degree in my 30’s — or was it I just switched to horses:)
Yup you got it. Watched it alot as a kid. Thought it very funny. I’ll have to check the plate but it was from SD so is a least 15 year old. The truck is a 1946 Chevy Light duty. Will tell more about it soon.
I would think taking the summer months off from teaching would be a good time for a break. You can be out working outside and much more light for painting.
Monty Python’s Flying Circus, of course. One of several British telly shows that has stuck deep deep deep not only in my mind but apparently also the public consciousness. Dr. Who was the same way and I’m glad they brought it back. I wonder why the BBC doesn’t make DVDs of Dave Allen’s show available too though, since I used to like that and it came on right after Monty Python on PBS.
Hahaha, I knew the quote but couldn’t think where it was from. I never really got into Monty Python myself, but hubby thinks it’s great! He sits there laughing his head off, and I just walk off with a very confused look on my face!
I LOVE your old car! Does it still go?
I loved Monty Python as a kid. At that time (exact year to be left unnamed) I thought they were hysterical and irreverent. I also loved Benny Hill. Now I’m not sure what I saw then, but then I feel the same way about many old movies from then. I remember at the time thinking they were the best thing ever. Now I’m like “huh?”
I also love Dr. Who and watched all the new shows as well. Are they still taping that show? The last one I seen really seemed like the finale. But then as I already said I like allot of off beat stuff. Honestly really enjoyed Red Dwarf and Vicar of DIbley. French is a hoot.
I remember Benny Hill too, but for some reason I don’t even remember Monty Python. Maybe it was too traumatic and my brain has blocked it from my mind!
It was hubby that got me into Red Dwarf. Thinking about it, he’s got me watching a few programs I wouldn’t have otherwise, including F1!
What about Kenny Everett? Remember him?
