Ah yes, Budda does do the "biscuit maker" pretty much anytime he wants to nap on me, which is pretty much any time I stop moving. Budda is declawed in the front so it's for the most part charming.

oh my, you don't know the "biscuit maker"? lucky you! it is when darling kitty feels oh so loving and kneads you with his claws. like baby kitties do on their mama's belly when nursing. cute in a 2 week old kitten, not so cute at 5 am when your 12 pound monster thinks you are his mama and your face is his mama's belly!

Thank you for moving my comment- I thought, that was such a clever comment and now it is lost in cyber space. I was going to try and re create it, but it is never as good the second time...

Lorie,
Okay so what exactly is the "biscuit maker" alarm. I asked Budda but he just shrugged and walked away.

Robert,
I am fortunate that Budda has yet to figure out the joy of sticking his whiskers up my nose. (since both Ari and Lorie's cats do it) Ari's a big kitty. Though I haven't actually weighed the Budda lately so pehaps not so big. :) Tomorrow I'll have to break out the scale.

NOTE: We moved my blog to a different server today and so Lorie's comment was never published. SO I copied and pasted it here.

Lorie says
ahh, the Budda is so wise. Our cat, Smokey, is not so much a licker or a slapper, but prefers the "biscuit maker" alarm. Oh yes, and whiskers up the nose like Robert's Ari. that is a favored technique as well.

As for the children run wild- Budda has once again hit the mouse on the head, so to speak. We don't have any human children and when people ask Why? Don't you like kids? my urge is to respond, I love kids, it's their parents I can't stand...

Budda, thanks for your interpretation of the grooming licks. Ari grooms me more and more often. He knows I appreciate it and understand it's a loving expression. One of those licks though, means "Dude, you splashed butter on your arm, so I'll get every speck of it off and leave you nice and clean." Most often though, it's a loving wash-up usually as a continuation of his washing his own arm, then he'll start in on mine.

He likes to wake me up to get his breakfast by laying on my chest, all 15lb of him, purring loudly and putting his whiskers up my nose.

Sometimes he'll also come up and sniff my breath, or just breathe into my face and then sniff my breath. After he's sure I'm still alive he settles down for a purr and a scritch, I guess he gets curious about what I just ate.
