Bulls Eye: Rodeo Bull WIP
Yeah, okay. So I know I said I’d post a picture on Sunday but it turns out my hubby took the digital camera with him for the weekend (and by weekend I mean until Wednesday.)
So I scanned in a partial of it to give you a basic idea. In truth I could have scanned in the whole image but it would have been done in with more than one scan being stitched together. So for the work in progress shot I chose to give you only a partial peek because I’m . . . technically incompetent, . . . too lazy,. . . short on time.
For those just stopping by this piece is a freebie to be used for the image on Rolfe Rodeo & Saddle Club t-shirts for sale during the rodeo. Still not sure if everything is going to come together to make it work for them, but I’m working my bohookie off trying to get something done. I had told them they could use an already existing image but they seemed okay with waiting for something new.
I’m taking wagers on which of the following will be the Rodeo Clubs response when seeing the painting,
1. It’s totally awesome!
2. I guess it will work.
3. It’s . . . . um . . . blue ?!?!?!
4. We wanted a bucking bull. You know like in all the rodeo photos we sent you. (Okay c’mon people my gallery and business is called Wild Faces! Faces! get it. cut me some slack) Oh yea, I’m so prepared for this one.
Anyone want to wager what their response will be?
NOTE: The horns won’t be that pink. They just have the bottom wash in. And the background will be that chartreuse-y green I’m so fond of lately. When I post the whole image I’ll go into the medium and size and stuff.

Maybe they’ll say “It’s buckin’ blue!” hehehe, sorry I couldn’t resist!
It looks great so far Mona!
well, if they have any sense at all they will go with a version of number 1. Maybe (to go with Undaunted’s comment!) they will say “buckin’ awesome”. and I, for one, am sick of the bucking bull image. I like the face!
My only question: How do I get one? (shirt, not bull- having enough trouble with sheep right now…)
it looks great Mona!
Oh I like that. Buckin’ Blue and Buckin’ Awesome. Okay ladies I may just steal your ideas for a blog post title. Just giving you a heads up.
Well if everything comes together and they get the shirts made I’ll see about providing contact information. I wonder if I get one free? Either way it’s for a good cause.
This is coming out great! I love it when you use your wild palette for these animals, it comes off awesome. I hope they get it too and don’t just get confused and go “It’s blue???”
I love it too. I really feel the soulfulness of your bovines. I especially like this one. If they don’t react with #1, it is there failing. Your bovine fur in OP is awsome!
Hehehe, I thought you were going to say you were going to steal it for the title of the painting!! Either is cool with me
Good work. I like your design. Quite impressive too. I always prefer the correctness in the color.
Tedjos,
I removed the html from the post because frankly it’s not good etiquette (not to mention spam like) to leave a link on a blog you’ve not participated in, in the past. Had you been a regular commenter I would have welcomed the link.
SO I’m not sure if this means you are Brent? or just a huge fan of his. Either way thought I’d let you know why I edited your comment. Normally I just delete something like this which smacks of spam.
UPDATED I have now totally deleted an additional comment and removed your second link as well as the artists name on the first comment. I am leaving this comment because I am hoping you might actually re-read your previous spam. Knock it off. You do it again you’ll get banned and I’ll contact the artist you who you THINK your promoting.
