Isabell
Work In Progress
Oil Pastel on Museum Board
Hot Pink Heifer
Well here is the latest on Isabell. I did remove the white “baldie” blaze and am more happy with the overall look. I also started replacing many of the yellows with pinks. She’s coming along.
I think this will be the last WIP you get to see until she is finished. I suppose it depends on how quickly I finish her up. If I wind up leaving her for a bit, I may post another WIP. She is progressing quickly though. Basically, this is two afternoons (less than 10 hours) work. She is approximately 16 x 20 but I haven’t measured her yet, since I may crop her a bit, so she is not so centered.
Ooh, she’s looking lovely!
Thanks Undaunted.
I am kinda liking her. I have some slight concerns about the background. I’ve no idea what color to go with. Any ideas? I always lean towards a funky green in my bright stuff. But since I am constantly changing her as I go I hadn’t planned that far ahead. Hmmm.
She is looking wonderfully colorful, interesting and well done. I loved her expression in the photo — your art makes her look more alive! I look forward to the finished piece! No great ideas about background, some type of gree seems appropriate and like it would really make the red/pinks stand out. Hope you have been haveing a good time with her. Angela
Does she NEED a background? I am not an artist, but I like her just the way she is.
Thanks Angela, I too really liked the green idea, but in the end I went more along the lines of Carol’s suggestion. I put in a very light blue. I started with greens and it just got to be too much. I am almost done with her. I wasn’t able to work on her today as it was mayhem. Apparently many people realized Christmas is around the corner. I can’t tell you guys how many times I said “yes, I think we can get this done (or shipped to you ) in time.”
But as they say “It’s all good.”
