Do You Use Your Artistic Lisense?
Front Of License
I have been a greeter on Squidoo now for a little while. Which means I look at all the newly published pages (in my selected areas of interest) and offer encouragement and positive feedback where it’s warranted. A couple of days back I ran across this lens for Poetic License created by Squidoo user Greekgeek which I thought was too funny and I told her she needed to make one for Artistic License . . . and she did.
This is a free template you can download and create your own with your picture or that of an artsy friend. As soon as I get a few minutes I’m going play with this idea. Very very clever. And how wonderful for her to share.
Just visit this lens: Make an “Artistic License” — Free Photoshop Template! This is where the images are from as well.

Hehehe, I remember Robert had made a really good license on his blog too! And Jafabrit had one as well, but I think she had to pay for hers.
Yep! This is a great idea. I drew one up to go with a blog article, but this one looks ever so official and colorful! The concept is perfect. It’s a great reminder not to get constrained by precious ideas and snobbish rules.
My latest art journal is titled “The Goof-Off Book.” As soon as I named it that and started painting in it, I started loosening up and lightening up. I have had loads of fun with it and eerily, it contains some of the best paintings and drawings I’ve ever done. Each page gets better and better.
The other great thing that comes with an Artistic License is that you can dress weird, ignore convention, discuss controversial subjects and be open about your views including social criticism while still being respected by the vast majority of people because artists are allowed more freedom of expression in everyday life too. That was a real joy to me ever since I started using it.
I think every artist I know needs one of these.
