Hey, Omaha owes me!
We got home late last night from my art event which was in Omaha, NE. Yes the same city which had a majorly devasting storm this past spring. Which by the way, when all was totaled, came to just about $10,000 (retail) in losses of mine. I am still occasionally finding something damaged by that storm that I missed. Anywho, I’ve had more people say “I can’t believe your going back!” But the way I see it is Hey, Omaha owes me!
Returning to the scene.
The big question is Did it rain?
Yes, every day. But for the most part it held off all day and rained over night, though the sky was cloudy and it was cold and chilly.
The other big question, How were sales?
Sales were excellent despite the cold. Saturday was pretty lousy and I was sort of concerned. (Not too concerned in truth, it has been such a hard year that I am taking it all in stride. But still I wanted to make some money, I mean that’s what I’m there for.) Sunday redeemed the show for me by selling 5 times more than I did on Saturday. (Usually it’s the other way around.) I sold a big original (Whoohoo!) I also moved a whole lot of prints and cards. Once again the trend has been toward individuals getting more smaller images instead of buying larger or framed pieces.
I think this year could have been the best Rockbrook Art Fair ever for me. I will have to do the final totals but it was good. I will talk about the actual artfair tomorrow.

What I want to know is, where is all this water coming from? I mean, don’t the clouds ever run out? We have had more than our fair share of rain this year, and particularly this past weekend. Apparently this has been our worst summer on record!
Anyway, I’m glad that things went really well for you on the Sunday.
I know, it is bizarre! I heard on the radio today that there is flooding and mudslides going on all over the world. Makes me wonder what winter is going to be like?
