Oh, cats! Wanted to compliment you on what you're doing for the barn cats giving them sausage and chicken skins for extra fat and energy during the cold. That's so sweet of you. If we ever move out farther into the country and get land, we'll probably get barn cats too.

Scritch the Budda for me and say hi from Ari and Miss Gemini and I. We'd like to know any dog training tips from his exalted catliness.

I do not envy your weather one bit! Thanks for the great photos though. A good reminder why even if Arkansas isn't green right now, I'm much much happier here looking at the dry brown grass and leafless trees. It's pretty, as long as I've got adequate heat and I'm indoors looking out at it through a window.

I'm like that when I get up too, wake up before I can move and do not function well till I've had coffee, a smoke and my meds.

Looking forward to all those fun upcoming posts, got to see this How to Paint a Dead Horse one!

My daughter "Kitten" got called out this morning for an emergency trim that turned into 4 1/2 trims. She did four horses and then got the psycho mare, did her front hooves and then got kicked at one too many times before said mare reared up and lashed out with front hooves. The teenager holding the mare's head let go and got out of the way!

So Kitten marched up to the mare, got the lead rope and hauled her head down, getting her sorted out for the moment. She decided to give the front hooves as a freebie and bring restraints next time, a sort of leather strap and D rings that go around the hind leg being worked on and hold her in proper position where she can kick all she wants, she's not going anywhere.

I think that if I had a snapshot of that horse, drawing her dead would probably seriously amuse Kitten! It's the first time I've seen her that annoyed at an actual horse! Though I suspect the teenager who let go of the lead rope got his share of it too.

Oh, and about the photos...I had no idea that this is what Rolfe looks like with all of the snow. I mean, yes, I knew Rolfe had gotten lots of snow, but I didn't visualize it. The photo makes Rolfe look like such a quaint, intimate little town. Sort of like I'd visualize the town on The Newhart Show. And, the stop sign. If someone is somewhere warm right now, the stop sign photo tells 1,000+ words for them (and for anyone where it is cold, too!)

I think you cook better for your cats than I do for Bill and me.

Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit . . . Budda says: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Somehow I don't think that's right.
