Yeah... trust me, you don't wanna know! I don't even know if it's used in that way anymore, it's just how I heard it used as a kid, by other kids.

Ummm... hmm... I've gone a bit shy now! Umm... what shall I call it... male fluid!

Correct Undaunted. I tend to use it interchangeably with feisty.

So I gotta ask, what does it mean in the UK? (I am a little concerned to find out the answer)

Hehehe, yeah, we make up words in this house too! :D

Spunk isn't really a word we use in the UK. Well... when I was a kid I heard it used... but that meaning probably wasn't what you had in mind! Is it like, determination? Or, courage?

Weird Word decoder.

These are real words. Well "bahookie" may be in question as spell check says no. (I believe I originally heard used by a Scottish squirrel - no kidding. But have have heard it quite a bit since, so am going with it) And "Moxie" may be from the 20's era or at least that's how I always pictured it.

Bahookie = Butt
Moxie = Spunk

That being said I do have a tendency to make words up. When I submitted my last column for Apples 'n Oats magazine the editor Carol Eilers sent an email asking if "slurber" was really the word I meant. And yes, yes it was. :)

Yes!...Look at you, Mona!!! Thank you for posting about the open house. And, as far as directions go, if anyone wonders, my address is 14106 Green Dr., Perry, IA. The directions from both east of Perry and west of Perry are given in the top (as of tonight) post on the blog. Also, images of the prints available at this point are at the "View and order prints" link at the right of the blog's home page.

The open house is from 9:00 until 5:00 tomorrow (Saturday the 14th) and also by appointment. We have prints, and we have refinished) our basement with wood from a barn that was built in 1904 and was at the "home place" where my father was raised. Whether you want to see prints, or want to see barn wood (or just want to have monster cookies!) it would be fun to have you stop by. (By the way, Mona has a lot to do with that marketing moxie!)
