Overly Optimistic

Okay so here you are expecting to see a photo of some work in progress painting, and what do you find? Nothing but more words. Apparently I was overly optimistic about my computer access.

Suffice it to say. Parts came in. Will take some time to get everything installed and running. Hubby using both computers all day so all I have time for is this little blurb.

Hopefully . . . tomorrow. I may well have it (”it” being the mystery painting) done tomorrow as well.

Doubtful, but possible.

Ah, things never quite go to plan do they?

Good luck on the computer build. I know the frustration when you don’t have it available yet but have it in hand already — a weird intense frustration. Looking forward to seeing the mystery painting though!

I’ve been doing spring cleaning for four days now and have driven myself into exhaustion but I’m getting results. Meanwhile doing a daily art dare with a friend on Livejournal, which I’ve kept up for three days just doing loose oil pastel scribbles and washing them with turpentine.

Exhaustion can be the mother of invention. Normally I take my time painting and work hard on layering and detailing, but because I’m so wiped out from the cleaning I’m just fooling around with cheap student grade ones doing floral studies on canva-paper — and they’re turning out well. Not only that, but a lot looser and lighter than some of what I do when I put time and concentration into it.

I guess every time I paint or draw anything I learn something. I hope that while you work on your mystery painting you’re getting wonderful insights and new bursts of creativity.

Good luck, Mona. At least it gives you a little more time with your mystery painting, hopefully.

I just linked to your blog in a Hubpages article, as an example of an artist who posts progress and stages on serious paintings. Hope you do get some access soon to post this Mystery Painting — my readers will scroll back to see the great series on that rusty old truck painting and others and enjoy it even before you do.

Thanks guys. We are finally up and running though I have to kinda relearn stuff as we are now on a linux operating system instead of windows. I don’t take change well. :)

Thanks Robert for the link. :) Today is the first and I’ve got a few more posts of WIPs for this piece. They aren’t done yet as the warm weather has the gallery hoping with new clients. Either way (painting or selling) I’m happy.
