Rockbrook Village Art Fair

Rockbrook Village Art Fair is a fine artshow filled with the quality work of around 150 artists. It is held in a upscale shopping center and draws a heck of a good crowd.

You can see it was cloudy and cold but the rains held off (with the exception of a few sprinkles) until after the close of each day.

Perks

  • Donuts and coffee in the morning.
  • Drive in loading and unloading.
  • A serious buying crowd.
  • Can get someone to booth sit if you need to.
  • Easy going atmosphere.
  • For the quality of event, it has a very reasonable booth fee.

Downside

  • Outdoors in Omaha
  • On pavement
  • Not any real support staff like the summer event has.
  • No awards. (Note: this isn’t really a downside, just thought I should mention it. Most artshows increase booth fee to pay for awards. I’d much rather spend less on the booth.)

This photo was taken Sunday afternoon. The guy in the red jacket and baseball cap is a fellow critter artist and friend, Rory Mattson, who seen me trying to take a picture and ran over to stand in my booth and wave at me. To his chagrin though, too many people kept getting in the way of his prank. One of the best things about doing Rockbrook this year (besides the money) was I was surrounded (quite literally) by many of my artist friends.

Sorry I missed so much in such a short period of time — love reading all of these posts. So glad that Omaha made a payback to some degree!!!! I am glad you enjoyed seeing so many friends there, too. Thanks for so many details about your experience at this art fair.

Don’t know much about that movie (hope that doesn’t mean I am getting past being a “middle aged” chick). Glad you did something relaxing though!!!

Sent off to the printing company for brochures, postcards and business cards yesterday. Many specials at Vista print — got several freebies, two sizes of postcards, car door magnet, rubber stamp. Since I have not gotten anything from them, I don’t know the quality yet. Should get in two weeks (chose next to slowest option to save $). But to answer your earlier question, yes I am doing all the layout myself — I do like the Vista print site for this option.

Going to my mom’s for doctor appointment later today and into tomorrow. Then have my own annual tests on Thursday — another week close to biting the dust!

    Happy Painting, Angela

Car door magnet . . . cool. :) It is always a little like Christmas when you get a bunch of stuff like that.

Good luck with the tests. They always freak me out a little. One time they took my blood pressure when I first came in (as they always do) it was borderline high, then they gave me my results, all good and then tested me again as I was about to leave. BP way back into the normals. Apparently the results really do worry me. Lord knows I hate doctors.

Anyway, again good luck! I’m sure all will be well.

It looks like they’re all heading towards your booth in that photo!
