Good for you! My family would definately get offended. But we don't see each other to often so it all works out.

Now there's a feeling I can relate to! Some of my family visited last weekend and eventually I just stood up and said "Ok, it's home time now, off you go!" Lol, at least my family can take it without getting offended! It's a shame I can't say that to everyone who comes round!!

Yes it IS a lot of cats (just ask my husband, he'll tell you.) Actually for our area it is about the usual farm cat population (if not a little on the small side.) Several people I know have into the 40's. Which is insane (says the girl with 12-20)

You know, my tolerance level for people is faaarrrr lower. Most people who come to the gallery to "visit" get kicked out in about 15 minutes. And they certainly have no chance of getting fed or tummy rubs. :)

Wow, that's a lot of cats! So they just turn up, move in, and get fed? Cool, does it work for humans too? :)

Angela, they might have longer hair. Our tom has long black hair. LG is a pastel orange and gray tortishell. I wanted to get a photo with her in the box (a moment of maternal bliss) but she pops out the moment I come in looking for treats or love.

Mostly I remember the artifacts, since they were so challenging to frame. Complete ceremonial buckskin outfits and objects like skull crushers (essentially a big stick with a big rock attached) took alot of effort to frame.

I haven't talked with too many people lately about the horse market. Are you hopeful to get a good price, or is a good home more important? I know, here in town there are still plenty of free horses available. I do know someone who is looking to sell a mule broke to drive with buggy cheap. I thought about it. Get Chicory a friend. But no,not enough time for all the critters I got now. Rainng here alot also. Chicory is still not out on pasture, though he will get turned out today in a small area to graze. Hopefully by next week he can run wild and free.

Happy painting to you also. :)

Undaunted,

Not really sure how many cats we have. We live on a farm and the number of "barn" cats fluctuates. It is generally aroung 12 but when LG pops a batch (she was for a long time our only breeding female) we can double our numbers. Also people tend to dump cats in the country figuring they can fend for themselves. Last year we had three show up almost completely starved. It took alot of care to bring them back.

Some we find homes for, some get killed by coyotes (this is becoming a worse problem all the time.) A few weeks back we had a wandering tom which actually killed 4 cats. I would have shot him had he stuck around longer. By the time I realised what happened, he had moved on.

We have hay barns and loads of outbuildings, so they have plenty of warm shelter. We feed our cats well and do the deworming and stuff, but other than that they are kinda on their own. Long answer huh?

LG and a couple of others, get special treatment so they flourish. Plus LG is older (about 8 ) and wise to the dangers of the world. Budda is truely the only indoor cat. And I will spend fortunes on him to keep him happy, healthy, and safe, even though he is exasperating the heck out of me right now. I keep telling myself it's only a stage. He will pass throught it.

Cute, cute, cute! We just have two neutered male barn cats -- so I don't think the egg yolks are the problem (LOL). They look like they may have longer hair(?).
I am glad you are busy -- you deserve it.
It is also great given this economy.

Wow, Native American museums--I bet you got to see alot of beautiful art.

Wet canvas has been down for two days, they have been upgrading the site, guess it was too much. I am currently working on corrections for the second horse, Ginger Razberry, and hope to repost her later today or tomorrow.

It has been raining alot here, bad for the farmers--which is also bad for horsekeeping. Sending my POA pony baby off to get 30 days under saddle in June, I guess and then maybe a new home -- hard to do but becoming a money and time economy issue, will look for a home for her mother later.

Have alot of barn work to do this morning and then hope to get in some good studio time this afternoon. Happy Painting, Angela
