Clever girl, you are absoloutly right. The paper didn't work at all. This is a new batch of larger sheets and actually the oil pastel would lift away a little paper if I tried to layer at all. Very frustrating. My other handmade paper is too small for the lambs, so either I will have to do them on my usual substrate or move on. Hurumph!

I did check out wet canvas this morning. I love the reworked Victory. She (he) looks beautiful. Also liked the Sorrel (or was it a chestnut?) The muzzle needed to be played with but I imagine you did that in the rework. Very nice. There is a huge demand for horse portraits. I think an artist (meaning you, if you want to go there) could do very well.

Sorry about your file -- very frustrating.

Looking forward to your lamb painting -- the drawing looks great. I can't believe you can do the oil pastel on that paper if it tears that easiley. I scrub my paintings with my fingers at times.

I spent the day doing a colored pencil painting of a dog for a friend. I have been practicing with CP, but this was my first complete painting that I didn't copy from the CP book I have been practicing with.

I am giving it to her on Tuesday.

Got my second horse painting corrected but haven't reposted it yet. Wet canvas is back up, but I may not get to post until Monday.

Happy painting, Angela

Thanks Undaunted. These lambs were a couple of our bottle lambs one year. I tried to paint them way back when I first started with oil pastel and it turned out rather hideous. But because I was emotionally attached to the critters, I kept the painting hoping to try again. So here we go.
