The T-Shirts Are Here! They’re not what I expected but they still look cool.

The T-shirts Are Here!
Actually from what I understand, they’re not quite what the Rodeo Club had anticipated either but they are pleased with the overall effect and so am I. I am grateful I did an image that was strong enough to be broken down into this silkscreen design.
So the offer still stands. Buy a shirt for $25 and receive a signed mini print (it’s smaller than the one in the photo right) as a special thank you from me. Our little clubs are completely volunteer driven so any help in fundraising is always appreciated. For more information regarding purchasing a shirt refer to the previous post.
Anyone (meaning Lorie and Carol) who want to change their mind, feel free. I’m certainly not holding you to it since I too was expecting something closer to the original. Again though, i am really pleased. I have reserved one for each of you but if you decide not to get one . . . well . . . it just leaves more for me.
For Lorie and Linda
Note the text on the t-shirt. Apparently the Rodeo Club thought you guys were as clever as I did.
Lol, yeah I was going to insist on a free T shirt seeing as they used my bucking joke, but then I read about them all being volunteers and felt bad! Oh well
Do they even do a really massive size that would fit me?? lol
Yup, I even paid for mine. And as to the last bit of your comment. You are delightfully curvy my dear.
AWEsome!!!ARe you going to be home for greater Rolfe days this year? I am thinking of coming again and would love to see you.
Hey Joan
Nope I’ll be away yet again this year. Now that we have a rodeo I am even more sorry to be away but gotta pay the bills and the one year we stayed in Rolfe, not a single person came in the gallery. Which kinda makes sense but doesn’t exactly encourage me to hang out either. Have fun!
I DO want my t-shirt, Mona! But I appreciate the “out” if I wanted it. I think they are so buckin’ clever, that I may have to get more than one. Do you have extras?
And by the way, Mike makes a buckin’ good model!
I am in!! because it is “buckin’ awesome!” I find it interesting that they chose red for the background…
Mike looks great! I am surprised they didn’t tell you about the change, but heh, that silk screen look is popular now since the Obama print. Fun to see the conversion. Your work looks good in the conversion.
As someone who used to have to do art for silkscreen, it was one of the only ways they were probably able to do it. And I bet either they have a really good trace option on their software or someone like me sat and traced that for like an hour.
Angela, Well when I handed over the artwork I completely let it go. I was not involved in the process at all. I think the Rodeo club had not thought about it (because they had no experience making t-shirts) so they also just handed over the art and let it go. The reason I was surprised was that when we had made t-shirts for a city event the previous year the method we had the printers use was to copy the artwork exactly. So silkscreen was just not what I had thought of at all. Certainly not disappointed just surprised.
Hey Lindsey, from what Sonja said I think they had to work on it for quite sometime. I think the image is very true in spirit to the original work though not too sure about the burnt orange and blue. I would have chosen something more purple with a green background. But again I’m totally happy with the outcome. Next year maybe I’ll plan a little better. If they choose to do it again next year that is.
So did you enjoy working with silkscreen? It seems like it would be great fun but I’ve never played with it.
I unfortunately never got to do the actual silkscreening, just the art, but I always year it is enjoyable:)
Got my shirt today- it’s fantastic! and just in time for our horse trip into the Bob Marshall!
And the print- oh my… love, love, love it!
Thanks Mona!
Excellent!
